The goddess

The biggest danger for an artist is to mistrust his instincts, they point the way back to primal nature. As Joseph Campbell would put it, they point our consciousness towards Gaia, the goddess of earth and the primal symbol of nature. Without instinct, the intellect is like a map without a compass. The point where our instinctual and intellectual truths converge is where the true singularity begins, where form shapes itself out of a lotus, the purple lotus of Vishnu where the world dreams itself partly as a song, partly as love itself.
